Here’s a simple recipe for Apple Pie Minis—perfect for when you’ve picked a few too many apples from the farm! 🍎 These mini apple pies are great for sharing, and their size makes them perfect for any occasion.
Mini Apple Pie Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2-3 medium-sized apples (peeled, cored, and diced)
- 1 pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter (cut into small pieces)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Muffin tin (for baking)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the apples: In a bowl, mix diced apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, and lemon juice. Set aside.
- Roll out the pie crust: Roll the dough and cut it into circles slightly larger than your muffin tin cups. Line each muffin tin with the dough circles, pressing them gently to fit.
- Fill the pies: Spoon the apple mixture into each dough-lined muffin tin, filling each cup. Add a small piece of butter on top of each mini pie.
- Top with crust: Use remaining pie dough to cut out small strips or shapes to place on top of each mini pie.
- Brush with egg wash: Lightly beat the egg and brush it over the top of each pie for a golden finish.
- Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Cool & Enjoy: Allow the mini pies to cool for a few minutes before removing them from the tin. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!
